FUNCTION ON A CONVEYOR BELT
A tail pulley or beater bar pulley, heavy duty wing pulley is positioned on a conveyor when it is transporting a material that will tend to stick to the conveyor belt. Beating the belt as it passes over the drum gradually loosens the material being conveyed.
This is all the more important if the conveyor is used in a humid environment, which will tend to accentuate the agglomeration of the material.
Implementation
As with the cage pulley design, a tail pulley is designed to evacuate material from the sides. Conical plates are welded to the shaft to discharge the agglomeration of materials on either side of the conveyor.
