A protective lagging for conveyor drums
With a thickness of 3 to 10 mm, smooth rubber lagging is generally used for drums that do not drive the belt, i.e. tail or return drums. This type of lagging extends drum life and reduces clogging.
Different types of smooth lagging depending on the purpose of the conveyor drum
To suit every application, there are several types of rubber quality:
- Anti-abrasive: long-lasting and highly resistant.
- White nitrile: FDA and EU 1935/2004 compliant.
- Anti-clogging 45 Shores: used on bend pulley or snub pulley which are in contact with the dirty strand of the conveyor belt (in contact with the conveyed product).

Other profile types
Diamond
The universal lagging
Used on deflection and take up pulley. It is also suitable for head pulley.
Ceramics
The high-adhesion lagging
Effective in humid environments to prevent slipping on the conveyor belt.
Slide Lag
For high tensile forces
Its elastomer composition gives head or drive drums high tensile strength.
Pulley bars
Anti-skid lagging for large drums
Ruggedly designed, the anti-skid bars are made of wear-resistant rubber for long life.
Griplag
For tough conditions
The Griplag prevents slippage and is self-cleaning, preventing material build-up and misalignment.
VARIOUS FILLINGS AND PREPARATIONS
Hot vulcanization
Vulcanization is a chemical process that gives the drum greater tensile strength, swelling, abrasion resistance and elasticity.
Cold rubberizing
Cold rubber bonding is generally used on "classic" drums for rubber coatings with smooth, diamond-shaped ceramic inserts.
SPECIAL RUBBERIZING
Coatings such as Slide Lag, Pulleybars or Griplag are applied to drums and pulleys by mechanical assembly.
Shot-blasting
All coated drums are shot-blasted for improved surface preparation. This preliminary work is essential for optimum adhesion to the drum.
