Special Removable laggings For conveyor drums and pulleys

ALTEMA know-how for easy maintenance of conveyor drums

Laggings, such as Slide LagⓇ, PulleybarsⓇ or GriplagⓇ, are applied to drums and pulleys by mechanical assembly. Their special feature is that they are interchangeable without having to remove the drums from the conveyor.

GriplagⓇ is a lagging that absorbs the movement between drum and belt caused by belt stretching. Griplag keeps belts cleaner, reducing costs and downtime due to breakdowns.

PulleybarsⓇ anti-slip bars are designed to enable materials to be transported on inclined conveyors or elevators. They can be used on reversible conveyors.

The Slide Lag® lagging uses thick steel plates designed to fit every drum diameter. Its unique elastomer composition gives head or drive drums high tensile strength and prevents flange and roller wear.

The universal lagging

Used on bend pulley and take up pulley. It is also suitable for head pulleys.

ceramic drum lagging

Ceramics

The high-adhesion lagging

Effective in humid environments to prevent slipping on the conveyor belt.

smooth drum lagging

Smooth

Protective lagging

For drums that do not entrain the belt, to extend their service life.

rubber drum lagging slide lag

Slide Lag

For high tensile forces

Its elastomer composition gives head or drive drums high tensile strength.

rubber drum lagging pulley bars

Pulley bars

Anti-skid lagging for large drums

Ruggedly designed, the anti-skid bars are made of wear-resistant rubber for long life.

griplag drum lagging

Griplag

For tough conditions

The GriplagⓇ prevents slippage while being self-cleaning, preventing material build-up and misalignment.

The benefits of rubber lagging

  • Bonding systems that make installing drum rubber easy, fast and tailored to your needs.
  • The laggings protect the belt and significantly improve the conveyor’s overall performance, thus extending its service life.
  • They ensure that rollers and drums rotate smoothly and without clogging, thus maintaining and aligning the conveyor belt.
  • Rubberized pulleys protect the belt by reducing slippage between belt and drums.
  • They reduce the belt’s operating tension, thus reducing belt elongation.
  • They reduce conveyor noise and vibration.

Different fillings and preparation

hot vulcanization packing

Hot vulcanization

Vulcanization is a chemical process that gives the drum greater tensile strength, swelling and abrasion resistance, as well as greater elasticity.

cold rubberized filling

Cold rubberizing

Cold rubber bonding is generally used on “classic” drums for rubber laggings with smooth, diamond-shaped ceramic inserts.

shot blasting

Shot-blasting

All coated drums are shot-blasted for improved surface preparation. This preliminary work is essential for optimum adhesion to the drum.
